Coronavirus (COVID-19) update

With a new active case of coronavirus in Mount Alexander Shire, please take extra care to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. Follow the public health advice, maintain hand hygiene and physical distancing. Regional Victorians are encouraged to wear a face mask when leaving home when it is difficult to stay 1.5 metres apart. Stay home if you are unwell, and get tested if you have any symptoms of coronavirus by making an appointment with your local GP or at a nearby testing centre in Bendigo, Kyneton or Maryborough. Be kind and don’t forget to check on family, friends and neighbours. Think about slowly stocking up in case you need to self-isolate and be prepared for any potential changes in restrictions.

The Victorian Government has extended the State of Emergency in response to the coronavirus pandemic until 11.59pm on Sunday 16 August. Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions apply to people who live in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire. People living or working in these areas must wear a face covering when leaving home. You must wear a face mask in these areas. For more information call the coronavirus hotline on 1800 675 398 or visit www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus.
