Regional Victoria is in Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions and there are only four reasons to leave home. They are shopping for food and essential items, care and caregiving, daily exercise, and work/study - if you can't do it from home. No visitors are allowed at your home, and you can only gather in public with one person from outside your household.
Stay home if you are unwell, and get tested and go straight home if you have any symptoms of coronavirus, no matter how mild. Find more information at www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus or call the Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 675 398.

While we continue to deliver essential services, our Customer Service Centre is closed to the public. Contact us by phone, email or lodge a customer service request via our website. You can also get in touch to arrange a time to speak with a technical staff member in planning, building, local laws, and public and environmental health. Call 5471 1700 or email info@mountalexander.vic.gov.au.

If you are feeling lonely or isolated, help is just a phone call away thanks to the Victorian Government’s Community Activation and Social Isolation (CASI) initiative. Call the Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 675 398 and press option 3 to speak with a volunteer from the Australian Red Cross who can talk to you about your needs. They can also put you in touch with a local community connector who can organise extra social, emotional or practical support from a network of services and organisations in the community. You can call our COVID-19 support number to access a community connector directly.

If you are interested in running as a candidate in the upcoming 2020 Council election you must complete a mandatory Local Government Candidate Training course. The course is available online and takes about one hour to complete. Find a link to the training and other resources for candidates via www.mountalexander.vic.gov.au/CouncilElections. The election will be held in October and conducted by post.

Council has resolved to sell Lot 10, Fitzgeralds Close at the Wesley Hill Business Park in Castlemaine. Council made the decision at its Ordinary Meeting on Tuesday 18 August. For more information contact Lynne Williamson, Property Portfolio Coordinator, on 5471 1700.

Council adopted its 2020/2021 Budget and 2020/2021 Annual Plan at the Ordinary Meeting of Council on Tuesday 18 August. Thank you to everyone who provided input or feedback on these important strategic documents. Both are available to view on our website at www.mountalexander.vic.gov.au.
