Mount Alexander Shire Council has partnered with the State Government – Small Business Victoria to deliver two free online workshops next month designed to skill up and support local small businesses.

“Our first workshop in September is designed specifically to provide COVID-19 support for local small businesses throughout the pandemic,” said David Leathem, Manager Economy and Culture, Mount Alexander Shire Council.

“It will focus on key areas such as financial hardship, managing business loans and tenancy arrangements, and how to apply for available support,” said Mr Leathem.

“We will also be offering a second workshop in September looking at cash flow, which is always important for business, but particularly at this time.

“The session will cover fundamentals like the difference between profit and cash, how to prepare a cash flow forecast and more.
“I’d encourage businesses to book their spot in one of these workshops – and be quick to avoid disappointment,” said Mr Leathem.

Business owners are encouraged to register now to attend one of the following sessions:

Local business owner Lindsay Callaway from Warral Maldon said he’s one of the many local business people that have benefited from Council’s small business workshops.

“The session I attended on business planning sparked lots of ideas,” said Mr Callaway.

“It also provided me with excellent guidance on where to direct my energy around business planning and strategy. I’d highly recommend it.”

As a response to COVID-19 these workshops will not be delivered face-to-face but rather online through Zoom. Places are limited so book soon.
