Mount Alexander Shire Council has extended the due date for the next rates instalment, following a delay in the issue of reminder notices.

The second 2020/2021 rates instalment is due on Friday 18 December, when it’s normally due at the end of November.

“Staff are continuing to work with our software provider to resolve some issues with our rating software,” said Carolyn Ross, Executive Manager Corporate Services.

“We apologise for the delay and the inconvenience this may cause.

“We also want to let people know they can expect to receive their reminder notice in the mail by the end of November and have extended the time frame for payment,” she said.

Rates in Mount Alexander Shire are payable by four instalments, with a number of convenient payment options including BPAY and BPAY View.

Payments can also be made in person at the Civic Centre or Australia Post, by calling 1300 486 757 or via Council’s website. If you receive Centrelink payments you can choose to use Centrepay.

For more information, or if you are having difficulty paying your rates, please contact the Rates Team on 5471 1700 or visit www.mountalexander.vic.gov.au/rates.
