Go Local First

Council is encouraging the community to buy and shop local to help support local businesses and provide a much needed boost to economic recovery in the shire. Small businesses contribute to around a third of our economic activity and are an important provider of local jobs. There are many ways you can support local businesses, producers, makers and traders.

Council has joined neighbouring councils in the Go Local First campaign, run by the Council of Small Business Organisations Australia. Look out for Go Local First stories in local news and social media featuring local businesses in the coming weeks, including a social media competition to encourage everyone to get involved. If you are a local business and would like to participate contact Eva Parkin, Economic Development Officer, on 5471 1805.
