Apply now for a community grant

Friday 15 January 2016

Mount Alexander Shire Council is offering grants of up to $3,000 to support local community-based projects and initiatives as part of the 2016 Community Grants Program.

Grants for projects that meet funding priorities are available to incorporated and not-for-profit community groups and organisations.

“Funding through these grants has strengthened a variety of local events and initiatives over the years, supporting everything from the arts and environment, to sport, health and wellbeing projects,” said Vicky Mason, Sustainable Communities, Mount Alexander Shire Council.

In 2015 Council supported a range of projects including relocating the Castlemaine Toy Library, reviving Barkers Creek and showcasing Maldon Folk Festival to a broader audience.

Funding is available for projects that are able to be completed by 31 January 2017.

“All community groups are encouraged to think about any projects they have planned for the year and make an application for this exciting funding opportunity before the closing date,” said Ms Mason.

Grant applications close at 4.00pm, Friday 19 February 2016.
