School holiday program

Places are still available in the YMCA Autumn School Holiday Program. The program offers a range of activities for school aged children, and runs until Friday 16 April. Find out more at the school holiday program section of www.childrensprograms.ymca.org.au.

Bike workshops for young riders

Council is partnering with Healthy Heart of Victoria and Bike Bendigo to deliver a bike workshop for students wanting to ride to school, or ride independently.

The workshop aims to encourage students to ride to school, build confi搀e and learn road rules.

The workshop will be held from 10.00am to 3.00pm on Friday 16 April at Western Reserve, Castlemaine. Sign up at www.trybooking.com/BPFBK.Cost is $5.

Changes to parking permits

The Victorian Government is moving to a new online system for accessible parking permits (formerly known as disabled parking permits).

If you’re applying for a new permit, or to renew or replace a permit you will need to follow the new system.

Apply for Land Management Rate

Eligible farmers have until Friday 23 April 2021 to apply for the Land Management Rate (LMR). The LMR offers a 20 per cent reduction off the general property rate for undertaking environmental management activities. Conditions apply.

Council meeting

The next Council meeting will be held at 6.30pm on Tuesday 20 April. It will be held at the Castlemaine Town Hall and everyone is welcome to attend. Council meetings are broadcast live to the internet via the Mount Alexander Shire YouTube channel.
