Council update on return to circuit breaker restrictions

While Council offices are temporarily closed until 8.30am on Friday 4 June, due to the seven day circuit breaker COVID-19 restrictions, we are continuing to deliver essential services and are here to help.

Following the Victorian Government’s announcement today regarding the 7 Day Circuit Breaker Restrictions, Mount Alexander Shire Council offices will temporarily close from 5.00pm today until 8.30am on Friday 4 June, pending further public health advice.

The closure applies to the Civic Centre, Visitor Information Centres, and council venues including community and recreation facilities. Parks, reserves and playgrounds remain open for outdoor exercise in line with the latest restrictions. Public toilets will remain open.

During the closure Council will continue to deliver essential services and staff will be available for customer service queries by phone, email and online. Contact us in several ways:

• Email us at info@mountalexander.vic.gov.au for a general query
• Call us on 5471 1700 between 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday
• Make a payment online, by phone, or via BPAY at www.bpay.com.au.

Council will continue to deliver essential services including meals on wheels, in-home help, household bin collection, planning applications, building services, maternal and child health, local laws, public safety, environmental health and emergency management. Social support, youth activities and planned events in the coming week will be cancelled.

The Victorian Government today announced that Victoria will enter a seven day lockdown from 11.59pm Thursday 27 May until 11.59pm on Thursday 3 June. This means:

Unless you have a specific exemption, the only reasons to leave home are shopping for necessary goods and services, caregiving and compassionate reasons, exercise, authorised work or permitted education, and to receive a vaccination. Conditions and travel limits apply.

Masks are mandatory indoors and outdoors (other than at home) and no visits are allowed at home.
