Remember to check in and stay safe

Council is reminding people that COVIDSafe measures are in place at all businesses and venues throughout the shire. This includes mandatory QR code check in or registration, patron limits and hand santiser at entry points. Masks must still be worn when indoors outside the home, unless you are eating or drinking or have an exemption.

Seeking volunteers for Maldon VIC

Council is looking for new volunteers at the Maldon Visitor Information Centre (VIC). The Maldon VIC is open every day of the year (except Christmas Day) from 9.00am–5.00pm. Volunteers work four hour shifts, either 9.00am–1.00pm or 1.00pm–5.00pm.

Celebrate Refugee Week

Rural Australians for Refugees (RAR) Castlemaine has organised a range of events and activities to help celebrate Refugee Week (20–26 June). The program aims to promote harmony and togetherness, and to highlight aspects of the refugee experience.

Pick up a program from the Castlemaine Visitor Information Centre, library and Castlemaine Community House.

Come along to pop-up art café

Grab a free coffee, and enjoy artworks made by local youth at the Mondo Lounge Pop-up Art Café. The café provides young people with valuable job skills, and also showcases local creative talent.

The café will be open on Wednesday 30 June from 10.00am to 2.00pm at Mondo Lounge, 30 Templeton Street, Castlemaine (access via rear of Castlemaine Community House building).

The business of climate change
