Community grants

Council offers a number of funding opportunities for community groups and organisations that want to undertake projects that align with Council’s plans and strategies.

Community Grants Program

The Community Grants Program provides support to local community-based projects and initiatives that align with Council’s goals and priorities.

The 2017 funding round is now closed. Recommendations for funding will be considered by Council at the Ordinary Meeting on 16 May 2017, with applicants notified of the outcome on 17 May 2017.

2015/2016 Project Acquittal/Project Completion Report

Successful applicants from the 2015/2016 funding round will need to complete the acquittal for their project online via SmartyGrants.

1. Got to: https://mountalexander.smartygrants.com.au/, and log in with the username and password you used to submit the application.
2. Click on “My submissions”.
3. Click on “Project Completion Report” directly under the submitted application to complete the report.

Quick Response Youth Grants

Council’s Quick Response Youth Grants provide grants of up to $1000 for local young people to run their own youth focused activities and projects. Young people can apply for a Quick Response Youth Grant at any time of year. A total of $10,000 is available per year.

Special Grants Program

Incorporated, not-for-profit groups in the shire with unanticipated and exceptional circumstances can apply for one-off funding of up to $500 per financial year. Eligibility requirements are provided in the Special Grants guidelines.

Applications are accepted throughout the year.
