Council is committed to addressing the housing affordability challenges facing our community.

Our actions align with the objectives of the Council Plan 2025-2029 to increase access to housing, which is affordable, appropriate, accessible and considers environmentally sustainable design principles, and include:

  • Using Council land and negotiating the use of State land to deliver affordable housing
  • Establishing the Mount Alexander Affordable Housing Trust
  • Connecting private landholders with affordable housing developers
  • Advocating for the housing needs of the shire

Maldon Affordable Worker Housing Project

Plans for new worker housing in Maldon are moving forward, thanks to support from Community Bank Maldon and District and Mount Alexander Shire Council.
