Outdoor trading

Outdoor trading refers to trading on areas that form part of footpaths, laneways, road reserves and roads including car parking spaces for activities such as:

  • Outdoor dining
  • Selling products
  • Displaying signage
  • Parklets

You will need an outdoor trading permit to place items on the footpath outside your business. Examples of the items allowed are:

  • Tables, chairs, bench seats and umbrellas
  • Advertising signs
  • Display of goods
  • Planter boxes, screens/barriers or promotional
