Camping on public or private land

A permit is required if you intend to camp, or keep or use a caravan, on land without an existing dwelling that is not an approved camping ground or caravan park.

Camping includes occupying or sleeping in a tent, vehicle, caravan, tiny home on wheels, mobile home, or any portable or other structure capable of providing accommodation.

This definition also applies to camping undertaken as part of an event.
