Mount Alexander Shire Council is calling for community members who are passionate about public art to join a new Public Art Advisory Panel.

The group will comprise of six people, and collectively provide advice to Council on the development of a public art program, including the review of public art proposals for the shire.

Panel membership is on a voluntary basis, and open to people who live and/or work in Mount Alexander Shire. Members will be appointed for a term of two years up to a maximum of six consecutive years.

Mount Alexander Shire Council’s Manager of Economy and Culture, Merryn Tinkler, is excited to see how the panel will guide and strengthen Council’s investment in public art.

“We’re looking for expressions of interest from a diverse range of people who have skill sets that play a role in public art”, said Ms Tinkler.

“This is a great opportunity to help guide the future of public art in our shire and contribute to creating vibrant townships”.

To submit your expression of interest:

Artists, curators, architects, planners, developers, heritage experts and other interested community members are invited to apply. We strongly encourage applications from young creatives aged 18-25 years, First Peoples, people living with a disability, culturally or linguistically diverse groups, and the LGBTQIA+ community.
