The role
Join Mount Alexander Shire Council as our Engagement Coordinator and lead a dynamic communications team dedicated to connecting Council with its vibrant community. This pivotal role oversees strategic messaging, media relations, and digital communications to ensure timely, clear, and impactful engagement.
You'll advise senior leaders, support internal teams, and champion continuous improvement in how we communicate with, and listen to, our community. Key responsibilities undertaken by the Engagement Coordinator include:
- Manage the communications and engagement workflow from across Council’s business units to ensure work is appropriately prioritised and delivered
- Oversee and contribute to the ideation, creation and distribution of Council material across our various platforms and channels
- Drive continuous improvement to Council communications and engagement as directed by available data
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing communications practices and advise the Manager on continuous improvement options
- Advise internal stakeholders on best-practice communications and engagement in order to best inform and hear from our deeply engaged community.
Our ideal candidate
To be successful in this role you will have:
- relevant experience and qualifications
- ability to lead, manage and develop staff
- familiarity with a variety of contemporary communications tools and tactics
- confidence in driving improvement and advising colleagues of varying seniority on communications and engagement practices
