The role
We are looking for an experienced finance professional for this exciting new role managing Council’s rates and revenue services. The role will require a strong focus on optimising customer experience, advanced knowledge of revenue and rates functions and experience leading a small team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the Revenue Services Team and Council’s rating and revenue services function.
- Management of property databases, rates modelling, the levying and collection of municipal rates, Government levies and rebates, as well as overseeing annual property valuations.
- A Customer centric approach to recover outstanding rates, fees and charges whilst operating within a legislative framework.
- Use of a strategic approach to problem solving and handling complex data and processes.
Our ideal candidate
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in business / accounting with several years demonstrated experience or a combination of relevant qualifications and experience.
- Expert working knowledge of the Property/Rates/Revenue functions of a Council combined with excellent people management, customer service and the technical skills relating to the management of financial services.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service.
- Demonstrated experience with the use of office software, financial systems and database applications.
