The role

This role coordinates a small team to deliver key organisational services for operational and strategic financial and management accounts services to both internal and external customers through:

  • Provision of leadership, support and mentoring of the Financial Services team
  • Coordinating and preparing statutory returns within required deadlines
  • Coordinating or assisting with preparation of the Long-Term Financial Plan, Annual Budget and Annual Financial Report
  • Supporting the accurate and timely maintenance of Councils asset registers, and assist with the development of the Capital Works Budget
  • Coordinating Councils loan and investment portfolio
  • Ensuring the delivery of the Accounts Payable and Corporate Card functions

 

Our ideal candidate

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Qualifications in Accounting/Business
  • Experience in a financial management position, with supervision/leadership responsibilities
  • Local Government Finance experience is preferred
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft programs, particularly Excel
