Mount Alexander Shire Council transformed the old tennis court in Taradale adjacent to the Taradale Mineral Springs into an interactive Youth Space that provides a great recreation space for all ages and abilities and is an attractive new addition to the area.

The project delivered:

• centrally located inclusive and accessible multi-purpose youth space

• much needed outdoor hard surfaces for informal recreation such as basketball, soccer and a hit up wall

• mini pump track for cycling, scooting and skating, grassed and treed areas, picnic tables and bench seats.

Overall, the project created a desirable destination for physical and social activity for local and visiting youth.

The project also refurbished the old tennis shed and provided a wombat pedestrian crossing to link the youth space to the beautiful Taradale Mineral Springs enhancing safe access to the space.

The project was a community initiative and will provides a much-needed recreation space for older children in the area.
