Nurturing Ground Somatic Therapy
In a somatic therapy session with Jem, you are invited to work gently with your body to explore the influences that trauma, stress and living in a complex world may be having on your life. Using awareness of your internal bodily sensations, life experiences and practices for nervous system regulation, each session offers a guided inquiry, inviting a safe reconnection with your body’s resilience and capacity for healing. This process encourages release, grounded presence, and a renewed sense of aliveness.
Sessions are collaborative and emergent to support the unique lived and living experiences of each person.
Areas focus on include:
- Trauma recovery: We explore a safe somatic and nervous system based approach to processing and releasing challenging and traumatic experiences, while rediscovering a greater sense of resilience and possibility.
- Stress management: We delve into a range of somatic tools and nervous system education to help shift unhelpful stress patterns, and orient towards a greater sense of connection and well-being.
- 1:1 trauma informed yoga and static practice: Invite some curiosity to experiment with a range of practices involving mindfulness, breath work, movement and rest to befriend your body and support wellbeing.
- Ecotherapy: with a somatic lens, we head outside to a supportive nature place and nurture a sense of connection with the more-than-human-world.
