The Adaption Game

How prepared are you?

The Adaptation Game, also known as TAG, is a tabletop gaming experience designed to prepare you for the impacts of natural disasters and climate change.

TAG uses real science to simulate how you might respond to climate-related challenges now and in the future. It promotes discussions on climate resilience and emergency preparedness through interactive gameplay.

Mount Alexander Shire Council is pleased to offer community members an opportunity to participate in an interactive board game based workshop ‘The Adaptation Game’.

About the game

The Adaptation Game is a board game designed to help individual and communities better understand extreme weather events – such as heatwaves, floods, and fires – and identify practical actions to build personal and community resilience to weather-related challenges.

The Adaptation Game is based on scientific evidence about how climate change will affect Mount Alexander Shire specifically, exploring practical ways to adapt and contribute to community resilience, as well as understand the projects and programs already being implemented by council and community.

The Adaptation Game is a cooperative game where all players work together. You will likely play with three other people whilst a facilitator guides you through the game.

Who should play?

This game is suited to people aged 16+ who are interested in learning more about climate risks in Mount Alexander Shire and actions you can take to be more resilient.
