Upgrading of sports oval lighting at the Harcourt Recreation Reserve in Harcourt will provide 100 lux LED lighting on the sports oval to replace the current floodlights which do not comply with the AFL guidelines.

Progress

All construction work is complete. Lights will be commissioned in early 2024 in time for the 2024 football season.

 

What happens next?

  • Cabling and switching to be finalised
  • Floodlight aiming 
  • Cricket net power installation bollard being installed
  • The lights on the old wooden poles to be turned and used for carpark and playground
  • Installation of new switches for the oval lights, carpark and playground lights to be installed at main entrance to Leisure Centre

Project funding

The sports lighting project is jointly funded by the Victorian Government's Local Sports Infrastructure Fund, Mount Alexander Shire Council, and Harcourt Football Netball Club.
