Urban Tree Policy

The Urban Tree Policy establishes Mount Alexander Shire Council’s position in relation to the management of trees located in a street, park or other Council managed property, within an urban area of the shire.

The policy does not apply to:

  • Trees located on private property
  • Trees on rural roadsides, which is managed in accordance with Council’s Road Management Plan
  • Trees located beyond township 60km/h speed limits on roadsides managed by the Department of Transport and Planning
  • Trees located on crown land managed by Victorian state authorities.
