Seniors Festival 2023

Mount Alexander Shire Council and Castlemaine Community House are inviting residents to come along and enjoy the 2025 Mount Alexander Seniors Festival!

The month-long festival shines a light on the contributions, creativity and community spirit of older Australians.

This year’s theme is ‘Connect. Create. Celebrate.’

It’s a joyful invitation for seniors, families and the broader community to come together, share stories, spark creativity, and honour the rich lives and experiences of our senior citizens.

The festival offers a range of free and low-cost events like life drawing, nature walks, chair yoga, live music, community lunch and lots more.

Seniors can also enjoy eight days of free public transport from Sunday 5 October to Sunday 12 October.

Mount Alexander Shire Council’s Mayor, Cr Rosie Annear, said that the festival is an opportunity to connect, learn and have fun.

“We’re proud to be partnering with Castlemaine Community House and other local organisations to deliver this festival,” said Mayor Annear.

“There are  a huge range of events and activities to try, including hands-on workshops, social events, information sessions and wellness activities.

“Check out the packed program to see what’s on and why not try something new? ,It’s a great chance to connect with your community, have some fun and embrace positive ageing.

“Let’s connect, create and celebrate together.”
