Council adopts two important plans for 2025-2029

Mount Alexander Shire Councillors adopted two important plans at the September Meeting of Council: Council Plan 2025-2029 and Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2025-2029.
Each plan will guide Council's strategic direction and priorities for the next four years.
The Council Plan was informed by extensive community consultation where Council asked the community what matters to them now and into the future.
Mount Alexander Shire Council’s Mayor, Councillor Rosie Annear, said Council wanted as many people as possible to have the opportunity to provide feedback and share their thoughts.
“We heard from over 1,100 residents, of all ages and from all over the shire,” said Mayor Annear.
“Some of the themes that emerged when people spoke about their current priorities were family and community, the cost of living, housing affordability and availability, the environment, biodiversity and climate change, roads, footpaths, drainage and accessibility, playgrounds, pools and parks and community safety.
“Thank you to everyone who contributed to shaping this plan. I am excited about the four years ahead and what we can achieve together.”
The Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan outlines what Council will do in partnership with government, health and community service organisations to protect, promote and improve community health and wellbeing across the shire.
“We know that good health is cultivated by more than just access to healthcare, said Mayor Annear.
"It’s shaped by our environment, our community, our opportunities and our choices, among many other things.
“That’s why our plan takes a collaborative and evidence-based approach to health and wellbeing.
“The plan includes practical steps to improve equity and support the wellbeing of all community members across all abilities and stages of life.
“We want everyone in our community to feel safe, supported, valued and well.”
