Council calls for community input on draft Financial Plan 2025-2035
Published on 09 September 2025
Mount Alexander Shire Council is inviting community members to have their say on the draft Financial Plan 2025-2035 via Shape Mount Alexander.
This 10-year plan explains how Council will manage its finances to deliver the services, projects, and community improvements committed to in the Council Plan 2025-2029, the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2025-2029, and the midterm review of the 2021-2031 Community Vision.
The draft Financial Plan 2025-2035 details the funding needed to keep things running smoothly, like maintaining roads and buildings, supporting community programs, and planning for future growth.
“This plan is about ensuring we can meet the needs of our community, now and into the future, while maintaining a stable financial position,” said Keith Caldwell, Manager Finance, Mount Alexander Shire Council.
“It’s a roadmap for responsible investment, service delivery and resilience.”
Planning for long-term financial sustainability will help ensure that:
- Council stays financially healthy
- Council can keep delivering the services the community relies on
- Assets like parks, buildings, and roads are maintained
- Council is ready to respond to unexpected challenges
Have your say on the plan today and let us know if we’ve got it right. The consultation period will remain open until Sunday 28 September.
