Meet Castlemaine Community House and the Harvest Program
In 2014, a small group of passionate community members came together with a vision for a connected, efficient and accessible local food system. They came up with the Growing Abundance Project.
Part of this project is the Harvest Program. This helps backyard gardeners harvest and distribute excess produce.
They also glean from commercial orchards after their harvests have been completed, and forage from roadside trees and blackberry bushes.
We recently asked local businesses what they’re doing to take action against climate change.
In July, we’re sharing these stories with you, with the aim to inspire and learn from each other.
