Mount Alexander Shire Council is seeking members for a new working group to shape the future of a playground in central Maldon.

Council has allocated $40,000 to develop a concept plan to improve the play area in Maldon Gardens, a beautiful spot that’s popular for families, events, and visitors.

The playground was last upgraded in 2014 and includes swings, a climbing frame, a train, and more. Now, it’s time to think about what’s next.

Council is looking for six to eight local people to join the Maldon Play Space Working Group.

You don’t need to be an expert, just someone who cares about play in Maldon. Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, young person, or simply passionate about community spaces, we’d love to hear from you.

What’s involved

  • Monthly meetings for six months, starting in late November 2025
  • Meetings will be held during working hours
  • A short break is expected over the summer holidays
  • You’ll work with Council staff to share ideas and give feedback to help shape the design

The final concept plan will help Council seek funding to build an improved play space, designed to bring joy to the community for years to come.
