Join the Farmers Forum at Micro and Small Business Day
Published on 13 June 2025
Mount Alexander Shire’s Micro and Small Business Day will include a dedicated Farmers Forum, providing space to acknowledge and respond to the challenges facing our local farming community.
The ‘forgotten drought’ may be forgotten by some, but not by farmers. This forum is a chance to connect, share experiences, and hear from local farmers, producers and experts on how to manage the pressures facing agriculture today.
Mount Alexander Shire Councillor, Tony Cordy, said the day is a chance to come together to spark real, practical and supportive conversation regarding agriculture and our local food systems.”
The Farmers Forum speakers will feature representatives from the Victorian Farmers Federation, Agriculture Victoria, the Rural Financial Counselling Service and Healthy Landscapes
There will also be panel discussions and an exciting segment where farmers share their stories.
“The day is open to everyone,” said Cr Cordy.
“Whether you are a small or large farmer, a winery, a grower, work in the food system or agriculture and farming, there’s something for you.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to get practical advice from people who have expertise and real working farm experience.
“It’s an invaluable opportunity to share, learn and network.”
The Farmers Forum is part of the Micro and Small Business Day, and is a free event and will be held in Castlemaine at 9.00am on Friday 27 June.
