The Phee Broadway Theatre Foyer Exhibition Program has kicked off with a selection of local artists taking over the space.

Mount Alexander Shire Council is proud to announce the exhibiting artists, who will display their artwork over the next twelve months.

The theatre, which is located at Mechanics Lane in Castlemaine, is a community gathering place where creativity is fostered and people connect.

The program will feature something for everyone to enjoy, with new work changing over every two months.

Exhibitions in the 2026-2027 program include photography, vibrant acrylics, watercolour, pen and ink, drawings, carvings and lots more.

Mount Alexander Shire Mayor, Cr Toby Hedyon, said that Council is proud to support local artists by providing a space to showcase their work.

“This program celebrates the creativity and diversity of our local arts community.

“We have such passionate and creative artists in our shire, and it’s wonderful to be able to give residents and visitors alike the chance to enjoy their artwork in this lovely exhibition space.

“Here at Council, we’re committed to fostering the arts with initiatives like this one – connecting artists with the community.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the diverse selection of works on display over the next twelve months.

“I encourage everyone to stop by and take in the incredible artwork made by members of our very own community.”

The first exhibition opened on 1July, with the last show opening in May 2027.

The theatre foyer is located in the same building as the Castlemaine Library at Mechanics Lane and follows the same opening hours.
