The role
The Financial Accountant supports the efficient, accurate, and timely management of council’s financial accounting function, supporting the delivery of services to the organisation and community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provision of accurate accounting and asset information to internal and external customers
- Overseeing the Accounts Payable and purchase card functions
- Ensuring financial tasks are completed efficiently, accurately and on time
- Assisting the Financial Services Coordinator with administration of the financial system
- Preparation and lodgement of the annual Fringe Benefits Tax return.
Our ideal candidate
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Qualifications in Accounting and/or Business
- Experience in a similar role leading a small team
- A CPA/ICA qualification would be highly regarded
- Flexibility to adapt to changing operating environments and the ability to learn new processes, procedures and systems quickly.
