The role

The Recovery Coordinator provides support and leadership to community groups affected by the January 2026 bushfires through:

  • working with fire affected communities and stakeholders to develop, implement and evaluate recovery initiatives
  • ensuring recovery information, events and activities are tailored to meet local needs
  • building upon community resilience to prepare for, respond to and recover from future disasters

Our ideal candidate

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • relevant experience and qualifications in a relevant field
  • knowledge and understanding of local governments roles in community relief and recovery
  • understanding of the Emergency Recovery Victoria – Recovery Framework
  • ability to liaise, negotiate and communicate effectively on complex issues
  • demonstrated ability to plan, deliver, monitor and evaluate projects and processes
