Fringe Festival Program Launch

The evening will feature live music from aplegate, an opportunity to collect the newly released festival program and a chance to connect with the artists, organisers and creative community that make Fringe possible - i.e. you!

Our 2025 program features more than 160 events, spanning music, theatre, visual arts, literature, film, comedy and workshops, with a mix of ticketed and free performances including:

• 20  theatre and fabulous theatrics shows – From experimental theatre to immersive performances
• 44  live music – Showcasing a diverse lineup of artists & genres
• 62  open studios and exhibitions – Meet local artists and explore Castlemaine’s creative spaces
• 10  comedy acts – A mix of stand-up, improv, and boundary-pushing performances
• 7  film and literature events – Bringing storytelling to life through cinema and literature
• 8  social impact events – Thought-provoking performances and conversations
• 11  creative workshops – Learn from experienced artists & industry professionals

Local band aplegate will be launching their new single and drinks will be available at the Fringe Bar.

Castlemaine Fringe Festival is a grassroots, independent event, celebrating the creative energy that makes the region unique. The launch event will set the stage for a program that continues to push boundaries, uplift diverse voices and showcase the thriving independent arts scene of Central Victoria.
