Maldon is celebrating 60 years since becoming Australia’s first Notable Town, and everyone is invited to enjoy a full day of history, markets, music and local attractions.
 

Heritage Market (9.00am - 1.30pm)
Browse local arts, crafts, food and live music set around the heritage‑listed 1905 former Scots Presbyterian Church.

Arrive by Steam Train
Travellers can journey from Castlemaine aboard the century‑old Goldfields Explorer steam train.

Shops and Cafés
Local businesses will offer history‑themed goodies and seasonal treats.

Self‑Guided Walks
Visitors are encouraged to explore Maldon’s historic streets and surrounding bushland at their own pace.

Historic Bus Tour (11.00am)
A one‑hour guided bus tour will depart from the Kangaroo Hotel.

Maldon Museum (11.30am - 2.00pm)
The museum will open its doors for special displays inside the 1859 former Shire Hall, including an exhibition on Maldon’s Notable Town status.

Vintage Machinery Museum (10.00am - 2.00pm)
The Maldon Vintage Machinery and Museum will showcase collections on the former Great Western Cymru Company Mine site.

Visitors are welcome to dress in period costume and enjoy a memorable Mother’s Day in Maldon.
