Maldon is celebrating 60 years since becoming Australia’s first notable town, and everyone is invited to enjoy a full day of history, markets, music and local attractions.
 
  • Heritage Market (9.00am - 1.30pm)
    Browse local arts, crafts, food and live music set around the heritage‑listed 1905 former Scots Presbyterian Church.
  • Arrive by Steam Train
    Travellers can journey from Castlemaine aboard the century‑old Goldfields Explorer steam train.

  • Shops and Cafés
    Local businesses will offer history‑themed goodies and seasonal treats.
  • Self‑Guided Walks
    Visitors are encouraged to explore Maldon’s historic streets and surrounding bushland at their own pace.
  • Historic Bus Tour (11.00am)

  • Vintage Machinery Museum (10.00am - 2.00pm)
    The Maldon Vintage Machinery and Museum will showcase collections on the former Great Western Cymru Company Mine site.
