Due to the Good Friday public holiday, Friday 3 April bin collections will occur on Saturday 4 April. The Castlemaine and Maldon transfer stations will be closed on Friday 3 April 2026.
The VMR is officially reopening as whole weekend-long fundraiser.
Fundraising tickets for Rising from the Ashes will be $10 per person per ride and will return to the normal price of $5 after the opening weekend. (Under 2 and Companion Card holders ride for free.
There will be a sausage sizzle on site, run by the Harcourt Lions Club, all weekend.
Friends from various Melbourne train clubs have also pitched in providing extra trains and carriages for the weekend.
