For people with sensory sensitivities or anyone who prefers a calmer setting, we will reduce lighting and turn off background music to create a quieter, more accessible environment every Tuesday and Thursday from 8.30am to 10.00am.
The Castlemaine Botanical Gardens were carved out of the traditional lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung people and fenced off in 1860 in the heat of Victoria’s gold rush.
The gardens are an outstanding example of a regional public gardens created in colonial Victoria.
