Batteries

  • All types of batteries, including household batteries, should be taken to the Castlemaine and Maldon transfer stations. Batteries should be separated from other waste, and disposal is free-of-charge.

Under no circumstances should batteries be placed in household rubbish and recycling bins. Fires occur regularly as a result of batteries being placed in rubbish bins.
