Created between mid-2024 and May 2026, the landscapes depict Leanganook (Mount Alexander) in its pre-fire state through to the complex landscape of recovery currently visible following the January 2026 Harcourt bushfires.

Inspired by the space and air of Castlemaine and Central Victoria, these works reflect stillness, light and expansive landscape. Paintings on paper, panels and framed drawings include a joined 100cm diptych with smaller pieces. Watercolour and acrylic trace how paint spreads and settles, mapping space as felt rather than seen.

Brett Davies

Outside In
7 April - 12 May 2027

Relief carvings depicting both abstract and natural forms. Botanical shapes such as gum nuts and leaves emerge from solid wooden blocks that hang on the wall, while abstract carvings explore movement and challenge spatial perception, with shapes appearing to recede or disappear into the wall’s surface.
