Amendment C101 – Planning Scheme Review
Current status
Planning Scheme Amendment C101malx was approved by the Minister for Planning on 17 February 2026.
Project summary
We updated the Mount Alexander Planning Scheme. The update, referred to as Amendment C101malx, comes out of the 2024 Planning Scheme Review process.
The amendment improves the performance of the planning scheme and will not change its intent.
Why do we undertake Planning Scheme Reviews?
All Victorian councils are required to review their planning schemes every four years to ensure the scheme remains effective, relevant, and efficient in addressing local needs and aligning with state planning policies.
Reviews help identify policy deficiencies, areas for simplification and opportunities for improvement.
