Amendment C101 – Planning Scheme Review

We are proposing to update the Mount Alexander Planning Scheme with draft Amendment C101malx.

The project was exhibited for a four-week period between 28 August 2025 and 25 September 2025. During this time, community members could make a submission to draft Amendment C101malx.

Council officers are now reviewing and considering any submissions, a consultation summary report will be uploaded onto the Mount Alexander Shape page.

Councillors will be briefed in late 2025.

Overview

All Victorian councils review their planning schemes every four years to ensure the scheme remains effective, relevant, and efficient in addressing local needs and aligning with state planning policies.

This review helps Council identify any policy deficiencies, areas where controls can be simplified, and opportunities for improvement within the planning scheme.

Referred to as Amendment C101malx, the updates will improve the performance of the Mount Alexander Planning Scheme and are primarily policy neutral, meaning they do not change the intent of the planning scheme.
