Rates bills delayed following January bushfires
Published on 19 January 2026
As our community comes together to support each other in the coming weeks, we know the last thing people need is to see a bill in the mail.
That’s why we're delaying our next rates bills for a month. We're also extending the due date for those bills from 28 February to 31 March, for everyone across the shire.
This will give our community time to do what they need to do, and it will give us time to work with affected residents on their individual rates situations.
As always, we encourage anyone experiencing financial difficulties to contact us to discuss hardship arrangements on 03 5471 1700.
For homes and businesses that we are aware have been destroyed in the fires, our rates team will be reaching out to discuss individual circumstances and what support may be available.
As we may have difficulty contacting residents, we encourage those people to reach out to us directly if they can.
We're anticipating a high volume of queries, so we ask for your patience as we process requests and prioritise those of people affected by these awful fires.
