As part of Councils Capital Works Program 2025-2026 an upgrade to the existing public amenities facilities will be undertaken. 

Utilising the existing building the redesign will provide the community and visitors with all abilities access, safe and user friendly toilet facilities.

Project overview

The architecturally designed sustainable upgrade utilising the external structure of the existing building will provide the community and visitors alike with safe and accessible toilet facilities.

The existing building has been redesigned to provide for the community and visitors as all-gender toilet facilities. Providing accessible amenities with improved sight lines will reassure users of their safety while utilising the facility. The design includes three unisex toilets, an ambulant toilet and a DDA toilet complying with current standards.

The new toilets will include user-friendly stainless steel modern fittings allowing for easier maintenance.

Project background

The Public Toilet Upgrade Program aims to construct inclusive; all abilities access to all Council operated public toilet facilities removing barriers and providing access to all community members.

Project funding

This project is funded by Councils 2025-2026 Capital Works Budget.

 

Construction timeline

  • Construction plans have been recently completed.
  • Construction is expected to begin later in 2025 with completion expected by 30 June 2026.
