Customer Satisfaction Survey underway
Published on 10 February 2026
Mount Alexander Shire Council is conducting a Community Satisfaction Survey to better understand what matters most to our community and how Council can continue to improve local services.
Mayor Toby Heydon said hearing directly from residents is essential to Council’s work. “This survey helps us understand what matters most to residents so we can continue improving the services people rely on every day,” he said.
The survey is being carried out by independent market research agency Klein Research, with fieldwork undertaken by their partner TKW Research. During February and March, some residents may receive a phone call inviting them to share their views on Council services and facilities.
The survey is anonymous and includes a range of questions designed to capture community perceptions of Council’s performance in delivering important services. Participation is voluntary, and all responses are confidential and reported in aggregate only.
Mayor Heydon called on residents to take part if contacted. “If you receive a call, I encourage you to take part. Your feedback plays a vital role in shaping the programs and facilities that support the wellbeing of our whole shire,” he said.
Survey results are benchmarked against a state-wide average and similar-sized local government areas, providing valuable insights into how the community perceives Council’s performance and where improvements can be made.
2025 survey results showed that Council continues to perform well in community and cultural activities, customer service and appearance of public areas.
Low performing areas were unsealed roads, population growth, along with planning and building permits. The performance for sealed roads was higher than other large rural Councils.
