The role and what it offers

As part of the Works unit, this position is primarily responsible for the proficient in the safe and efficient operation of a range of plant associated with road maintenance and construction activities. Preferably these will include experience in trucks, loaders. backhoes, tractors, skid steers, brush cutters, chainsaws and other equipment associated with the activities required of the position

Using our modern and well-maintained fleet of plant and equipment, this role plays an integral part in the programmed and reactive maintenance of rural roadside slashing and vegetation management. This role will also be responsible for infrastructure maintenance in small townships, which includes drainage, footpaths, roads and any other Council related road infrastructure. The role is a ‘hands on’ position working with other team members.

An attractive salary between $66,217- $70,051 pa depending on experience, working a 9-day fortnight. With the choice of doing available overtime earning attractive penalty rates, and the choice of doing standby / after-hours works on call offering generous allowances and applicable penalty rates. The extras are at your discretion!
