The role

Key responsibilities undertaken by the Tree Management Officer include:

  • Provide professional input and advice to internal Council and external partners to ensure a sustainable tree population is maintained throughout the municipality
  • Coordinate and prioritise the assessment and completion of arboricultural tree work on trees located on Council managed land
  • Maintain, deliver and continually improve the accuracy of tree asset data, mapping and works management information in Council’s Asset Management system
  • Coordinate Council’s annual Electric Line Clearance (ELC) program
  • Monitor contractor performance and compliance in accordance with the contracts, contract management plans, risk management plans, and organisational policies and procedures

Our ideal candidate

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • National Certificate Level 5 (Diploma) in Arboriculture, with substantial experience and well-developed tree risk and tree assessment skills
  • Good understanding of Risk Management Principles and an ability to analyse risk factors and implement appropriate controls
  • Demonstrated experience in the management and maintenance of tree asset data, mapping, works management information and customer requests
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A current Victorian Drivers licence (this is a mandatory requirement)
