Busking permits

The shire supports activity in our public places by buskers, artists and street performers.

A busking permit in Mount Alexander Shire is free and they are valid for a specific timeframe and/or up to 12 months. After that time you will need to renew it.

Do I require a permit?

You do not require a permit if:

  • You have the written permission of the owner or occupier of the premises adjacent to where you propose to busk
  • You do not engage in busking at that location for more than 1 hour in a 24 hour period.
  • No obstruction or inconvenience is caused to people using the road or footpath

How to apply for a busking permit

Download and complete the Busking permit application form(PDF, 231KB).

Email it to info@mountalexander.vic.gov.au or bring it into our Customer Service Counter at:

Corner Lyttleton and Lloyd Streets
