Local support and assistance

Our community is pulling together to help support people affected by the bushfires. Please see the below list of resources for those in need:
 
Temporary accommodation, paddocks and facilities 
CFA Taradale is coordinating a list of people who can offer temporary accommodation, paddocks or facilities to people affected by bushfire. Local GPs 
If you need medical assistance, call a local GP’s office and they will work to get you seen, even if you don’t have a local family doctor.
Clothing and kitchen supplies.
 
Local op shops
Local op shops are offering items for free to people affected by the fires. Please visit Castlemaine Salvos, Windarring Castlemaine Recycled Store, MAAW Op Shop and The Good Op Shop if you are in need.
 
Food pantry
A free food pantry is open today (Sunday) from 10a-3p at Castlemaine Community House, and all week from 9a-3p for anyone who needs it. CCH is also accepting donations to the pantry.
 
Meal support 
Castlemaine Meal Train is providing homemade meals for those with young families affected by the fires. They are also collecting/distributing nappies, kids clothing, toys. Contact: castlemainemealtrain@gmail.com
 
Pet food and supplies
The Regional Community Pet Clinic Castlemaine is offering free pet food and has a limited supply of leads, pet beds and bowls. Call 0493 447 394 for help.
