Community grants

Council offers a number of funding opportunities for community groups and organisations that want to undertake projects that align with Council’s plans and strategies.

Community Grants Program

The Mount Alexander Shire Council Community Grants Program is now CLOSED.

Applications from the last round are currently being assessed. All applicants will be advised of the outcome of their application by the end of May 2019.

The next round of Community Grants will open 22 July 2019.

The program provides support to local community-based projects and initiatives that align with Council’s goals and priorities.

Some changes have been made to the program this year to make it easier for applicants to plan and deliver projects.
The main changes under the new program include:

- Introducing two funding rounds per year in January and July
- Simplifying the application form and guidelines
- Offering two funding streams: Small Grants (up to $3,000) and Partnership Grants (up to $10,000). Partnership Grants are for projects of up to three years in length involving a minimum of three partners.

When the Community Grants round is open, you can start your online application here : https://mountalexander.smartygrants.com.au/.

Remember you must read the guidelines and speak with a member of the Community Partnerships Team prior to lodging your application. Read or download the program guidelines:

- Community Grants Program Guidelines (PDF, 274KB)
- Community Grants Program Guidelines (Word, 9.4MB)
